Before you head to the nearest camping store, you must first take into account some important considerations needed to ensure that you will be purchasing the most suitable portable camping shower.

Heat is one of the most important criteria you should pay careful attention to. Some people just won't be able to handle the cold water being supplied in most on-site camp showers. Therefore, you should buy a camp shower that has a water-heating feature. If you are most likely to camp at a site that receives ample amount of sunlight, then you can benefit from the use of portable solar camping showers. But for those who might be dealing with a cloudy or cold weather, camp showers with built-in heater would be more ideal.

The type of flooring wherein you will be installing your temporary shower must be considered as well. Find a camping site that provides heavy mesh flooring so you can conveniently clean up while enjoying your shower. You can also be resourceful by finding a space that provides clean flooring wherein you can install your shower.

Another feature that you should look into when choosing portable outdoor camping showers is the ease of setup. A portable shower that includes a detailed instruction manual along with easy to assemble components would be your best option. If you can find camp showers that do not require screwing, then go for those types, but if it is really necessary to use screws try to find camp showers with lesser screws needed.

The design of the camping shower is also a vital consideration. You should go for camp showers with large shower heads for higher water flow, and those with thick hoses so it won't get tangled up. You also need to look into the suitable type of camp shower needed. Camp showers come in different varieties and types. As mentioned earlier, some showers needs to get sufficient sunlight in order to produce heated water, like a solar camp shower. Solar camp shower may take time before it can produce heated water. Another viable option is the use of camp showers that are powered by propane fuel. They use burners and coils to heat up the water, and the best thing about them is that you can make use of the heated water in just a matter of minutes. In addition, choose camp showers that have mesh sides to allow air to flow in and out the shower while providing you enough privacy.

A camp shower is definitely a necessity that must be present during your camping trip. Create a more invigorating camping experience with the help of portable, reliable, and functional camping showers!

One important thing to point out is that most camping shower tents cannot support the weight of a 5-gallon solar camping shower bag when hung from the ceiling of the tent. Camping shower tents are usually designed to hold 2.5-gallon solar shower bags without collapsing. If you plan to combine a camping shower tent with a solar shower bag it's good to remember that a 5-gallon shower bag is not an option as the shower tent will not withstand the weight.

I enjoyed your review of the solar shower, and your video, very informative. And Joel thank you for the information on the solar bag and camping shower tents. Good to know.

Great point Joel about shower tents and maximum solar shower size/weight ratings. Most, even including the top-of-the-line Paha Que tepees, are only rated for 2.5 gallon bags. The only one I’ve seen that states it will hold a full 5 gallon solar shower is the TexSport Deluxe (which even comes with a free 5 gallon bag). Unlike the typical fiberglass-pole design, it uses chain-corded steel poles, which is why it will support the extra weight.

The downside is that at 19 pounds, it weighs nearly twice as much as other options. There’s a good comparison table that compares the differences between the most popular shower tents at http://bestcampingshowers.com/camping-shower-enclo
