They are typically sized the same as you find your jeans, however many times people realize they can wear this type of pants a size or two smaller than they normally do. When riding you want to make sure that your pants are fit properly. You do not want them too loose, as this will cause problems with air flow and potentially getting into different areas of your engine.

Before purchasing, you should make sure that you have the exact pair you want. Typically at the beginning of the riding season for your area, safety gear will cost more. If you can, try to wait until the end of your area's typical riding season to purchase safety gear. This does not mean you should ride without gear. Many times you can get discounts for buying a whole set of gear, when purchased at the same time.
